all quiet

June 13th, 2005

i haven’t really been up to much, which probably doesn’t warrant a blog entry but i feel like i ought to keep some kind of commentary going so everything’s not so static. right now i am in kind of an awkward transitional phase. i’m staying with mike in north carolina and in a week we’re going to scout for apartments in michigan, and then going to my home in illinois for some doctor’s appointments and a wedding and probably a yard sale of a lot of my old stuff. after that it’s all kind of vague how long i’ll be in one place before we move to michigan and start living together on our own as grown-ups.

so far all my fears re: leaving school are being realized but only because i’m letting them. i haven’t drawn anything since “finishing” up my final projects and i haven’t made any outstanding efforts to do so. most of my paper and tools went home with my parents and there’s not a lot of room for me to feel comfortable enough to bust out the ink or any of the messier tools i brought with me. this all probably comes off as a lot of flimsy excuses, which it pretty much is. i need to do some extensive brainstorming and come up with some summer projects that would travel reasonably well so i don’t just spend all day aimlessly surfing the internet (you know, like i have been for the past week or two).

hey Holly,

i have a little project maybe if you are interested. The Notes and Scratches are going to be putting together promotional materials soon and one of the things we need is the dreaded Band Photo. We were thinking instead of a regular picture that we could ask someone to draw us. Would you be interested? I could send you some pics of the band. Oh, our friend Cortney has some pics up at Flickr (go forward from there). I dunno if those are too unclear, i’ve others i could email. We’re not looking for accurate representation, and ‘cuter’ side of your style seems totally perfect. Any interest? Drop me a line…

hope you’re well. Congrats on finishing schooly!
